On behalf of the International Fruit Tree
Association, we ask for your support of the IFTA Rootstock Research project by
making a voluntary contribution to IFTA. Each year, IFTA allocates funds
from the contributions to researchers all over the world conducting projects to
improve the rootstock and growing methods for producers of tree fruit.
In Fiscal Year 2010, the IFTA Board voted to
allocate $33,700 for seven total research projects. IFTA is building a
research and resource library for members in the online community. You
can watch this valuable resource develop by scrolling over "Research and
Links" in the navigation menu at www.ifruittree.org.
We would like to count on your support in
2011. The Research Committee issued a Request for Proposals to
researchers in December and has 10 proposals to consider. The IFTA Board
will be voting on their recommended funding levels during the Annual Conference
in Pasco, Washington.
With your help, our organization will
continue to be the leading international organization advancing intensive
orchard systems. Again, we appreciate your continued support for both
IFTA and for the tree fruit industry. Below is a donation form to make a
donation in 2011.
We would like to recognize all current year
research fund donors at the Awards Banquet held on March 1 at the Annual
Conference. If you know that you or your company will be making a
donation to the Rootstock Research Fund in 2011 and will have someone present
at the Awards Banquet, please let our Executive Director Rick Dungey know by
e-mailing him at dungey@ifruittree.org.
Please note that IFTA's fiscal year runs from Dec. 1 to Nov. 30, so if
you have made a contribution since Dec. 1, 2010, then you are already going to
be recognized at the Awards Banquet in Pasco.
We look forward to a productive year for our
industry and again thank you for your support of crucial research. Click here to download the 2011 donation form Sincerely, Larry Lutz, IFTA President Gary Mount, Chair, IFTA Research Committee
