Brett Kast

Brett Kast was born and raised in Albion, NY. Brett originally went to college for business, and then changed to secondary education with a concentration in history. He was never passionate about either and decided to come back to the farm and made the decision that this was what he wanted to devote his life to. Brett never ended up going back to college in the traditional sense. Instead, he focused on learning on the job and from as many trainings, seminars and tours that he could attend. Brett owes a lot of his education in agriculture to the Cornell Fruit Team and the many experienced mentors that He has been fortunate enough to work with over the last 20 years.  Brett is currently the Orchard Manager at Kast Farms, with day to day responsibilities that focus on fruit production and harvest.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, hiking, kayaking and traveling.  Brett is married to the most amazing woman in the world, Amanda.  Brett and Amanda were married in 2012 and have 2 young boys.  Brett is excited to serve as a Director of the IFTA to help ensure that the members of the IFTA are exposed to technology, research, markets and growing practices to help membership use these tools to better themselves and their operations.
